To nurture leaders and professionals with international outlook, valuing multi-culture diversity, and being capable to communicate well
Set up in 2014, the mission of International School of Technology and Management (ISTM) is to nurture professionals with international mobility. The school is dedicated to setting up 2+2 programs in collaboration with internationally-renowned universities. Students will be awarded 2 separate degrees upon successful completion of requirements dictated by each institution.
Students studying 2+2 undergraduate programs will complete their first 2 years based in FCU studying common core courses and other required/elective general courses scheduled for their chosen program. In the 3rd and 4th year, students will study required/elective university core courses required by applicable partner institution.
ISTM partnered with world-renowned tertiary institutions and all of our 2+2 programs are in highly-employable fields and in keeping with global trend. Furthermore, the locations of our partner institutions are world-class in terms of living environment, culture, employment opportunity and friendliness towards international students.
With all English-taught courses and additional language proficiency support classes in place(for international students, we offer Chinese language courses), the first 2 years of study in ISTM allows students to adapt to studying at our partner institutions. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with culture and customs of the Greater China economic area.
Setting up of international academic collaboration of this kind involves standardization and mutual recognition of admission criteria, credit requirement, language proficiency requirement and graduation requirement of ISTM and the partner institution after rigorous bilateral discussion. The study plan is tailored to facilitate seamless transition from FCU to partner institutions.
Undergraduate 2+2 programs currently offered by ISTM include:FCU-Purdue Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Electrical Engineering & Computer Engineering
FCU-RMIT Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Business and Innovation
FCU-SJSU Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Business Analytics
SJSU Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Engineering (Electrical Engineering)
AACSB International Accreditation
AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education. It is widely regarded as the highest level of accreditation for business schools, as only 25% of U.S. business schools achieve AACSB International accreditation.
FCU is accredited by the AACSB since 2014. Only 11 of Taiwan's colleges and universities are accredited by AACSB International.
To achieve and retain AACSB International accreditation, a business school must satisfy a wide range of rigorous quality standards, ensuring that the school:
- Manages resources to achieve a vibrant and relevant mission
- Advances business and management knowledge through faculty scholarship
- Provides high-caliber teaching of quality and current curricula
- Cultivates meaningful interaction between students and a qualified faculty
- Produces graduates who have achieved specified learning goals
IEET accreditation is a non-government, peer-review process with a student-outcomes based orientation. The purpose of which is to determine if a degree-granting program meets certain standards of quality. IEET has signed international agreements with well-respected international bodies (Washington Accord, Seoul Accord and Sydney Accord) responsible for accrediting engineering degree programs and also MOUs with ABET and JABEE to ensure its standards and obtain international recognition.
Feng Chia University's many degree programs are accredited by IEET including College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Information and Electrical Engineering.
